Reminds me of my morning, except I usually don't get applauded with daisies. Maybe tomorrow?

You know how some movies you can watch over and over and over?

That habit of mine has intensified with the release of the trailer for Sex and the City 2. May 28th.

iPhone applications are getting personal. And I'm not sure how I feel about it.

For men looking to have some sort of forewarning of their girlfriend or partner's time of the month, PMSBuddy has got you covered. PMSbuddy iPhone app allows users to track the menstrual cycles of the women in their lives in the hope of notifying men and helping them cope with the dreaded PMS (premenstrual syndrome) and its effects.

As ridiculous as it sounds to a woman, the service is currently being used by over 100,000 people worldwide, via an iPhone app, a website and Facebook widget. PMSBuddy is launching a new version of its iPhone app that will offer push notifications of upcoming PMS and the the ability to locate flower shops near you (via GPS). PMSBuddy will also be rolling out similar applications for Android and Blackberry phones.

And PMSBuddy is expanding to other verticals. The startup will soon be launching Fertility Buddy, which allows women to track when they are ovulating to increase (or decrease) the likelihood of conception. Similar apps to PMSBuddy include MyMate and iAmAMan.

Where is my inner-genius hiding? And when will it come out to brag?

I'm the first to admit how behind on the internet I am (hence my "hold your judgment" caveat), but I refuse to believe that I am one of the last to discover WolframAlpha. I am absolutely fascinated by what I just stumbled upon here and feel the need to share it with everyone (aka the one current subscriber to my blog).

NOTE: this is not your typical search engine. This is the answer to all things we non-Harvard grads cannot compute on our own let alone even know what input should go in the search bar on google.com when attempting to compute on our own. When you're afraid to ask what percent 49 is of 241, that's child's play for WolframAlpha. Let's think ivy style. If you're curious as to what the GDP of Italy is compared to France, a search for "GDP France/Italy" tells you all. And let's say you don't even know what GDP actually means - that's cool because there's a definition included on the side bar. AND because we're all obviously losing sleep over the fact that we don't know the revenue to employees ratio at Honda (in yen), that spicy little fact comes up simply by searching "Honda" on the site.

I encourage you to explore for yourself :) http://www.wolframalpha.com/

Students raise over $7 million for pediatric cancer

Penn State students raised over $7 million in 2009 for The Four Diamonds Fund and Hershey Medical Center during THON, a 46 hour no sleeping and no sitting dance marathon. THON is the largest student run philanthropy in the world. This weekend, the students return with their hearts set on topping their total from last year. Want to donate? Visit www.thon.org for more details.
